Betsy Amey, LCSW-C

Betsy has been in practice since 1989 and at The Resource Group since 1994. She works with adults and teens suffering from anxiety, mood, and personality disorders. and with people struggling with life transitions: grief, job loss and change, leaving home, relationship change and loss.

She has specialized training and experience in the counseling and treatment of people with chemical dependency (including those with chronic relapse) and persons affected by chemical dependency and mental illness in their families. She serves as Clinical Supervisor for the Recovery Programs at The Resource Group.

Betsy offers relationship therapy with couples. Her approach is based on a "family systems" model, striving to enhance both individual personal growth and intimate commitment between partners.

Currently she co-leads the Skillful Living Group and the Women's Relapse Prevention Group.
